How the Teardown series works, and what to do if you're featured
If your store showed up in one of our Teardown episodes, here's exactly what we do, why, and what your options are.
What We Scan
URL only. No login. No backend access. No customer data, no order data, no analytics we weren't already able to see as a visitor to your site. If it's not visible to a normal shopper or publicly readable in your store's code, it's not in the scan.
The same scan is offered free to any store at autonomoustech.ca/shopify-revenue-audit. You can run it on your own store any time.
What We Say
We report on measurable things: page speed, checkout friction, discount logic, tracking setup, technical conversion blockers. We don't comment on your brand, your marketing, your product, or your team. If a finding in an episode reads as personal rather than technical, that's a mistake on our part and grounds for a correction under the policy below.
If You Want Something Changed
Email hello@autonomoustech.ca with the episode name and your request. We offer three options:
- Add a noteWe publish a correction or your response alongside the video and blog post, unedited, in your words.
- Re-record the segmentWe pull the original finding, verify it against your update, and replace it with a corrected cut.
- Remove the brandWe take the episode down or edit your segment out entirely and replace it with a different store.
Response Window
We respond within 3 business days and resolve within 10.
Before You're Featured
Every submitted store gets a private scan within 7 days, whether or not it's picked for a public episode. If we pick a well-known brand for an episode, we don't need permission to scan public data, but we do give you the options above after the fact, every time.
Run the same scan on your own store
URL only. Takes seconds. No store access needed.
