Every list of “Shopify Plus websites” you find is a gallery of homepages. A homepage is the least useful thing to copy. The useful part of a Plus store sits behind it: how it runs B2B, regional sites, checkout and retail.
The short answer. These 10 Shopify Plus stores are each confirmed as Plus on Shopify’s own customer pages. Each one shows a single pattern worth copying, such as B2B on a second store or a one-page checkout. Copy the pattern that matches your bottleneck, not the brand.
Who this is for, and who it is not for. This is for owners and ecommerce leads on Shopify or Shopify Plus. Use it to brief a developer or agency with concrete patterns. It is not for you if you want design inspiration. These are notes on systems, not screenshots.
How we picked these 10 stores
Many lists of “Shopify Plus websites” include brands nobody has shown are on Plus. We only included a store if Shopify’s own case study names Plus as a product it uses. A store also qualified if the case study says the brand moved to Plus. Each brand below links to that page.
Results quoted below are what Shopify’s case studies report. They are vendor case studies, not our measurements. Several are years old, so read them for the pattern, not the number.
| Brand | Before | After, as reported |
|---|---|---|
| Ruggable | Three-page checkout | One-page checkout |
| Spanx | Merchandising changes took months | Days or weeks; 10% higher conversion rate reported |
| Steve Madden | 30 sites, 3 brands, over 260 apps, no shared rules | One custom theme across 30 sites; 16% higher conversion rate reported |
| Allbirds | Only warehouse stock sold online | 31 retail stores fulfil online orders |
| JustFab | Custom stack across several tools | Headless front end with Shopify running checkout and payments |
If you are weighing the plan rather than the patterns, our Shopify Plus pricing breakdown sets out the full cost. If you already know you need Plus, see what a Shopify Plus agency does on that build.
The notes below use a few technical terms. Here they are in plain words:
- Shopify Plus: Shopify’s top plan, built for larger stores.
- B2B: selling to other businesses, such as trade buyers.
- Catalogue: the set of products and prices one group of B2B buyers sees.
- API: the doorway one piece of software uses to read and change data in another.
- Headless: the shop front is built outside Shopify’s themes, while Shopify still runs the sale.
- Function: a small program Shopify runs inside checkout to change discounts, shipping or payment rules (Function limits).
- Checkout extensibility: Shopify’s current way to add to checkout through apps, without editing the checkout code.
- POS and ERP: POS is Shopify’s point of sale for physical shops. An ERP is the finance and stock system of record.
Ten Plus stores at a glance
| Brand | What to study | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Brooklinen | A second store just for B2B buyers, in the same admin | Trade buyers order themselves instead of by phone |
| Arhaus | Moving off a homegrown platform with 90+ showrooms | Online and showroom selling share one system |
| Steve Madden | 30 sites across 3 brands under one theme and content system | Local teams publish without breaking the brand |
| JustFab | Headless front end, Shopify running checkout and Functions | Front-end changes cannot break payments |
| Ruggable | Checkout cut from three pages to one | Fewer steps on a large purchase |
| JB Hi-Fi | Loyalty discounts built on Shopify's Cart API | Member pricing without a custom checkout |
| Gymshark | Gift-with-purchase logic at checkout | The rule survives only if it was rebuilt as a Function |
| Good American | Shopify POS linked to NetSuite ERP | Stores, site and finance read the same stock |
| Allbirds | Ship from store across 31 retail shops | Store stock becomes sellable online |
| Spanx | Merchandising changes moved from engineers to the ecommerce team | Weeks become days for a collection launch |
B2B on Plus: Brooklinen and Arhaus
Brooklinen used B2B on Shopify Plus to add a second store for business buyers. Its team runs that store from the admin it already used (Brooklinen case study). Buyers see their own prices, products and payment methods. They place orders themselves instead of over the phone.
What to copy: a separate B2B storefront that looks like your direct-to-consumer site.
Do you need Plus for it? Not always. Company accounts, net payment terms (pay later, by invoice) and up to 3 active catalogues run on every plan. Plus lifts the catalogue cap. It also adds deposits (part payment up front) and company-level catalogues (B2B features by plan).
Arhaus moved from a homegrown platform to Shopify. Its case study lists Shopify Plus and B2B as the products it uses (Arhaus case study). It runs more than 90 showroom and design studio locations beside its site.
What to copy: its test before moving. Arhaus says it asked “Can we do this?” for each need. It moved only when the answer was yes for almost everything. Write that list for your own store before you sign anything.
Many sites, one rule set: Steve Madden
Steve Madden had grown to 30 commerce sites across three brands, according to its case study. Those sites ran over 260 apps between them. Its partner rebuilt the sites on one custom theme, connected to a separate content system. Local teams now publish content for their market, while one team owns the theme.
What to copy: the split between what local teams may change and what one team owns. On Plus, your main store and 9 expansion stores (extra storefronts for other regions) sit inside the licence (Shopify Plus pricing). Expansion stores multiply apps and themes fast. Write down who owns the shared theme and the app list before you open store number two.
Headless and Functions: JustFab
JustFab lists Headless, Shopify Payments, Shopify Plus and Shopify Functions as the products it uses (JustFab case study). It runs its own front end, which reads from Shopify through the Storefront API, Shopify’s doorway for custom shop fronts. Shopify still runs inventory, checkout, payments and fulfilment.
What to copy: the line JustFab drew between what it builds and what it rents. It kept the systems tied to its membership model. It left stock, checkout, payments and fulfilment to Shopify. Draw the same line for your store before anyone proposes a headless build.
Checkout: Ruggable, JB Hi-Fi and Gymshark
Ruggable moved to checkout extensibility and cut its checkout from three pages to one (Ruggable case study).
What to copy: count the steps in your checkout on a phone. Then ask which steps exist only because an old app needed them.
JB Hi-Fi built discounts for its Perks loyalty program on Shopify’s Cart API, according to its case study. The Cart API lets code read and change a shopper’s cart. Shopify Plus and Checkout are the products it lists.
What to copy: member pricing as a cart rule, not a separate price list or a custom checkout. That keeps the loyalty logic in one place you can test.
Gymshark moved from Adobe Commerce, the current name for Magento, to Shopify Plus. Its case study describes using Shopify Scripts to add a free gift at checkout (Gymshark case study). Scripts were small pieces of code that changed checkout. That case study is old. Shopify Scripts stopped running on 30 June 2026, and Shopify deactivated any Script still published (Scripts migration page).
What to copy: the gift rule, rebuilt as a Function. If your store copied this pattern with Scripts, check today that the gift still applies. Our Scripts sunset post covers that rebuild.
Retail and stock: Good American and Allbirds
Good American lists Shopify Plus and Shopify POS as the products it uses (Good American case study). It links its shop tills (Shopify POS) to NetSuite, its ERP.
What to copy: decide which system owns stock and which owns the order before you open a shop. Good American’s team says the hard question was making the new channel fit what was already in place.
Allbirds lists Shopify POS and Shopify Plus. It used ship from store to let its 31 retail stores fulfil online orders (Allbirds case study). Ship from store sends an online order from a shop’s own stock. Before that, only warehouse stock could be sold online.
What to copy: the rollout. Allbirds ran a pilot, then launched in four waves with daily order caps per store. Copy the waves, not just the feature.
Merchandising speed: Spanx
Spanx moved from Adobe Commerce to Shopify Plus (Spanx case study). Its case study says changing featured products and collections used to take engineering and ecommerce teams months. After the move, it reports these changes take days or weeks.
What to copy: let the ecommerce team change featured products and collections without a developer. On Shopify that usually means theme sections and a small set of approved apps. Sections are the blocks a team can edit in Shopify’s theme editor. It does not need Plus.
Which of these patterns need Plus
Not every pattern above needs the Plus plan. That matters, because Plus starts at $2,300 USD a month on a three year term (Shopify Plus pricing).
| Pattern | Example store | Needs Plus? |
|---|---|---|
| More than 3 B2B catalogues, company catalogues, deposits | Brooklinen | Yes |
| Several regional storefronts inside the licence | Steve Madden | Yes, up to 9 expansion stores |
| Full checkout customisation | Ruggable | Yes for full; lower plans are limited |
| Basic B2B with up to 3 catalogues | Brooklinen | No |
| Shopify POS and ship from store | Allbirds, Good American | No |
| Merchandising through theme sections | Spanx | No |

Decision rule. Name the pattern you want to copy first, then find it in the table above. If it runs on your current plan, copy it there before you pay for Plus. That rule is our judgement, not a Shopify policy.

Common questions
What are some examples of Shopify Plus stores?
Shopify’s own case study pages name Brooklinen, Arhaus, Steve Madden, JustFab, Ruggable, JB Hi-Fi, Gymshark, Good American, Allbirds and Spanx as Plus users. Each shows one pattern worth studying, from B2B on a second store to a one-page checkout. The table above lists what to study in each one.
How can I tell if a website runs on Shopify Plus?
You usually cannot tell from the storefront alone, because Plus and lower plans use the same platform. The reliable source is Shopify’s own case study pages or the brand’s public statements. We only listed stores that Shopify itself names as Plus on those pages.
Do I need Shopify Plus to copy these stores?
Not for most patterns. Basic B2B, Shopify POS and merchandising sections run on lower plans. You need Plus for more than 3 B2B catalogues, company-level catalogues and deposits. You also need it for expansion stores inside the fee and for full checkout customisation.
Which Shopify Plus feature do large brands use most?
We have not measured that, and Shopify publishes no share. Across these 10 case studies, the recurring themes are B2B, checkout changes, retail through POS and running several storefronts. Pick the one that matches your own bottleneck, such as B2B ordering or checkout steps.
Can I still copy Gymshark's free gift at checkout?
Yes, but not with Shopify Scripts, which stopped running on 30 June 2026. The same rule is now built as a discount Function inside an app. If your store used a Script for this, check today that the gift still applies.
